Growing in Faith
At Zion Lutheran Church, we are continuously learning, growing spiritually, and supporting one another on our shared journey in faith. Every week, we strengthen ourselves and our community of faith by coming together as one family for worship. In conjunction with Sunday worship, Zion offers Sunday School classes, Confirmation classes, adult Bible Study and adult catechesis.
Sunday School & Confirmation Classes
Children and youth from pre-kindergarten to high school attend Sunday School from fall to spring. The Sunday School curriculum is scripturally based and age appropriate. Each Sunday School lesson is designed to coincide with the worship service and children’s sermon. At Sunday School, children and youth learn to live out their faith in today’s world. Middle school youth participate in Confirmation classes to prepare them for a lifetime as Christ’s followers. These religious education programs help our young people develop a strong foundation in faith.
Adult Bible Study & Catechesis
Adult Bible Study and catechesis takes place year-round. Another popular Bible Study event coincides with a meal prepared by the pastor. Pasta with the Pastor occurs a twice a year, in the spring and the fall. The pastor prepares and serves a pasta dish and leads Bible Study afterwards. What a nice evening involving good food, fellowship, and faith.
Christ-Focused, Bible-Based Teachings
Each educational opportunity at Zion Lutheran Church is Christ-focused. We focus on what Jesus Christ has done for us by becoming human, suffering, and dying for the sins of human beings. In a victory over death and Satan, Christ rose to life again. We teach the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the 16th century reformation of the Christian Church.
